How's Your Mental Doing?

Taking care of our mental health is more important than ever, but seeking professional help can be costly. Fortunately, many free resources are available that can help support your mental well-being.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): Provides free mental health resources, including support groups, educational programs, and advocacy services.

Crisis Text Line: Free, 24/7 support for individuals in crisis, accessible via text message.

7 Cups: Online therapy and counseling services, offering free chat rooms and anonymous support.

Insight Timer: Here you will find the world's largest library of free well-being content.

Therapy for Black Girls: An online directory of therapists specifically for Black women, offering resources and support for mental health.

💊 How To Take Your Dose:

Choose one of the resources listed above and schedule a time to explore it this week. Make a commitment to yourself to prioritize your mental health by utilizing this resource regularly. Consider setting a goal to attend a support group or complete a piece of well-being content once a week.

Meal Preppin' Isn't Always Fun, But It's Worth It!

Maintaining a healthy diet is essential to self-care, but it can be challenging to eat nutritious meals, especially with a busy schedule. Meal prep is an effective way to save time and money while ensuring healthy meals are readily available throughout the week.

Plan Ahead: List the meals you want to prepare for the week and shop for groceries accordingly.

Batch Cooking: Prepare a large batch of a particular meal or ingredient and use it in various dishes throughout the week.

Spice It Up: Experiment with different herbs and spices to add variety to your meals.

Incorporate Leftovers: Transform leftovers into new meals by adding fresh ingredients or repurposing them creatively.

Try New Recipes: Expand your culinary horizons by experimenting with new recipes and different ingredients.

💊 How To Take Your Dose:

Set aside time this week to plan and prepare your meals for the upcoming week. Choose one of the bullet points above to incorporate into your meal prep routine. Consider setting a SMART goal, such as meal prepping at least three days' worth of lunches for the week.

Did You Miss the Deadline for Taxes? Follow These Steps.

Filing your taxes can be a daunting task, but what happens if you miss the deadline? In this section, we'll be sharing some tips and resources to help you navigate what to do if you missed tax day.

File your taxes as soon as possible: Even if you missed the deadline, it's better to file your taxes late than not at all. The longer you wait, the more penalties and interest you'll accrue.

Pay what you can: If you owe taxes, pay what you can as soon as possible to minimize interest and penalties. You can also set up a payment plan with the IRS.

Consider filing an extension: If you need more time to file your taxes, you can file for an extension using Form 4868. Keep in mind, however, that an extension only gives you more time to file your return, not more time to pay your taxes.

Keep records and receipts: Make sure to keep records and receipts for all of your expenses and income, in case the IRS audits you or has questions about your tax return.

Avoid future late-filing penalties: To avoid future late-filing penalties, make sure to file your taxes on time in the future. You can set up reminders or hire a tax professional to help you stay on track.

💊 How To Take Your Dose:

If you missed the deadline, don't panic! Take a deep breath and review the resources provided. Follow the steps to file for an extension or payment plan, and create a plan to stay on top of your taxes in the future.

Don't Forget to Look at The Green Flags in Your Relationship!

Maintaining healthy and positive relationships is essential to our overall well-being. It can be difficult to know what to look for when building strong connections with others. Here are some green flags to keep an eye out for:

Respect: If someone respects your boundaries and values, it's a good sign that they're invested in your relationship.

Communication: Communication is key in any relationship. Look for someone willing to talk things out and listen to your concerns.

Empathy: Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. Someone who displays empathy towards you will likely be a good listener and supportive friend or partner.

Shared values: Having shared values and interests can be an important foundation for a strong relationship. It's important to look for someone who shares your goals and beliefs.

Trust: Trust is essential for building a healthy relationship. Look for someone honest and reliable and who keeps their promises.

💊 How To Take Your Dose:

Consider your current relationships and assess whether they exhibit any of the above green flags. If not, it may be time to reevaluate those connections or work on building new ones. Consider setting boundaries and communicating your needs to those around you. Surround yourself with people who lift you and support you in your goals and values.
