Tanaye Whiteโ€™s Story on How Modeling Has Helped Her Find Herself & Become a Mental Health Advocate

โ€œIn my late twenties, I embarked on an unexpected journey into the world of modeling. Despite having a successful corporate job, I couldn't shake the desire to pursue my passion. This leap of faith proved to be transformative, as I learned to find my voice and advocate for myself in an industry filled with challenges.

As I navigated my new career, I recognized the importance of speaking up and standing my ground. Modeling often required me to confront issues of diversity and tokenism, pushing me to have tough conversations with brands and agencies. My advocacy extended to my fellow models, and I found sisterhood and a community with them.

My hard work has paid off as Iโ€™ve booked work with Sports Illustrated, Lโ€™Oreal, Estee Lauder, and Victoria's Secret. However, my journey was not without its hardships. The instability of the modeling industry took a toll on my mental health, leading to one of the most difficult periods of my life. Amidst the struggles of maintaining a steady income and paying my bills, I found solace in my commitment to mental health advocacy.

Drawing from my own experiences, I realized the need for a safe haven for women to address their mental well-being. This inspired me to create Feel Good Babe, a mental health community designed to uplift and support women from all walks of life. Though still in its infancy, I envision the company growing into a household name, offering self-care items and books promoting mental wellness. By tailoring monthly subscription boxes to each individual's needs, I aim to help women feel their best and prioritize their mental health.

My journey in the modeling industry has been a testament to my resilience and determination. Despite facing adversity and challenges, I have found my voice and advocate for change while simultaneously pursuing my passion for mental health advocacy. Through my experiences, I have discovered a unique opportunity to combine my modeling career, my dedication to mental health, and my digital communications background to create something meaningful and impactful.

My word of the year is unrelenting. As my career in modeling and mental advocacy continues to evolve, I hope to continue to make an impact in the modeling industry and beyond.โ€
